About This Horse

Scientists have shown that prior to the Industrial Revolution, the level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Earth's atmosphere was about 270 PPM, a level that had been stable for millions of years. The current level is 385PPM, which is already well above the upper limit of sustainability, now known to be 350PPM. In spite of this reality, individuals, communities and governments continue to ignore the warnings and each year the CO2 levels continue to rise. This horse is utterly dead because once the delicate balance is lost, the genie cannot be put back into the bottle and we will be left facing irreversible and cataclysmic climate change

Why It's Dead

Human Driven Global Warming is a Dead Horse because it is leading our civilization right off the edge of a cliff at breakneck speed.
When the Earth's climate no longer supports life as we know it, we will all be dead.
So this has to be among the very deadest of Dead Horses.

You Might Be Riding It If...

You own one or more SUV's and feel that its your right because "you work hard and pay your taxes"
You think the answer to the oil crisis is to drill for more oil
You operate several giant sized TV screens at home, roughly the size of windshields
You believe "science will find a way to fix all this" so there's really nothing to be concerned about
Its OK to consume 50 times the amount of resources used by people in developing countries because "they would too if they could!"
You consume factory farm meat

Better Horses to Ride

Develop alternative clean sources of energy
Convince people everywhere to use less energy and to conserve whenever possible
Educational programs that stress sustainable energy practices
Reducing the number of global military empires
Find a local farmer who raises pasture fed meat and visit farm to verify sustainable practices are being used. If so purchase meat. Stop buying meat from a grocery store.
